Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's well-known as a public speaking. She was the creator of Feminist Frequency the website which hosts videos and commentary analyzing the representation of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and an American feminist media critic. Feminist Frequency examines the way women are represented in the popular media. Destroying stereotypes about women are the main goals of her work. However, Sarkeesian also highlights issues related to specific harassment of women on the internet and for other groups that have been marginalized. Sarkeesian is a graduate in political thought and social theory at York University. She is also an internationally acclaimed public speaker. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen Festival as well as to the United Nations Broadband Working Group. When she was a student at the university she became interested in the issues surrounding gender and rights for women in the early stages. The ebullient young woman was slammed on the internet for her website that focused on the gender of videogames. It was not enough to stop her. In fact, it strengthened her commitment to being a feminist and a media critic. Her notable contributions to the field of feminists are recognized with numerous prizes.
