Lisa Edelstein was an American actress, best known as the star of Fox's House medical drama. She grew up in Wayne and was raised in a strict Jewish tradition. When she was 18, she moved into New York City to study at Tisch School of the Arts. She became very involved with the club scene in the city of New York, and did enough to get heard in the press. In the meantime she began to become aware of AIDS and its devastating impacts. Eventually she used her training as well her fame to compose and write the musical Positive Me and also starred in it. Awake to the Wild Side, a show that she was host for MTV quickly became her new job. Following the end of the series her appearances began in television and film productions, initially in smaller roles. She gradually established her place as an actor.
