Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck-2Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from the United States. His most famous role was that of Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) and for which he received five nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series. He won the award in 1985. From 2010 until 2010 Selleck has been the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he has been playing Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in a small town New York City. He has also been in nine TV movies based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also played the role of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady (90). Since Magnum, P.I., Selleck has been in more than 50 roles on television as well as in film, such as the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He appeared in recurring television characters as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends and as Lance White, the likeable and charming co-star in The Rockford Files, and as casino owner A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a lead role in the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser in ads for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
